Fees and Refund – International
The international students at Jabin Hopkins need to pay the international tuition fee applicable for the courses they enroll, which is different than the domestic tuition fee. The details of fees are advised in the enrolment offer letter we sent to the student prior to course commencement and the student needs to pay the fees according to that payment advice.
Course fees
Along with the tuition fee, there may be additional fees for your course such as enrolment fee, resource fee etc. The course fees are subject to change. Contact us to get the up-to-date fee information of the courses of your interest.
Instalment options for fees payment
The international students may choose from our various flexible installment options to pay their tuition fees except first semester fee for offshore international students. The students must pay the fees according to the instalment plan they choose, and not exempt from the fees in case of any hardship they face. In case of any exceptional situation, the student may apply for an extension to their instalment due date which the institute may or may not approve. The request for extension must be made before the due date. Failure to make the payment within due date or extended due date may result in late payment fine.
Retake fees in case a student fails in units/subjects
If any International student fails to gain competence in a unit or subject, and subsequently retakes the unit or course, the student may be charged for that retake.
Course credits and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
International students are eligible for course credits if they have completed any unit of their course elsewhere as part of another Australian qualification. In that situation the proportion of the tuition fee will be deducted based on the number of unis the student is eligible for a course credit. The students also may be eligible for recognition of their prior skill and experience for certain unit(s). Generally, the students are required to pay 50% of the normal course fee for each of the course or units where the competence is gained through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
Additional fees
In addition to the course fees, there may be additional fees for to purchase goods or services which are essential to complete their course. Students will be advised if any additional charges are applicable for their course before enrolment and when these items need to be purchased.

International student’s refund policy
JHIT’s policy on the refund of tuition fees and other course money for international students has been developed in accordance with the ESOS Act, TPS Direction and the National Code 2018. This policy applies equally to all new and re-enrolling students unless otherwise stated. The following policies apply for international students’ payment and refund
No refund will be made for the enrolment fee whether it is provider or student default and before or after the course commencement as this is the administrative cost associated with enrolment process.
Refund in Case of Provider Default:
In case Jabin Hopkins is unable to continue a course (provider default), the student will be offered an alternative course or part of a course as an alternative to refunding the course fee. If the student chooses to get a refund of the fees instead, JHIT will refund the fees for the number of weeks in the default period.
Fees Payable and Refund in Case of Student Default:
In case of student default/withdrawal from the course, the following terms and conditions apply:
- Withdrawal 10 weeks or more prior to course start date or semester/study period/term start date: FULL (100%) tuition fees will be refunded, not the enrolment fees. But this does not apply if the student is granted a student visa on our (JHIT) CoE, in that case NO (0%) tuition fees will be refunded.
- Withdrawal in less than 10 weeks prior to the course start date or semester/study period/term start date: NO (0%) refund for the semester/study period fees but the student needs to pay the full semester fees if the fees are not paid in advance.
- Transferring to another provider after getting VISA on our (JHIT) CoE: NO refund or release until 6 months of the principal course. But the student needs to pay the fees including the 6 months of the principal course fees if the fees are not paid in advance.
- Fees Payable and Refund in case of student default will be calculated by semester fees regardless student paid full semester fees or paid part of the semester fees.
- The refund will be paid within 4 weeks of the refund application date if there is any refund payable to the student. On the other hand, if fees are payable by the student then the remaining fees must be paid before the request of cancellation or release can be executed if there is such a request has been made by the student or within 4 weeks if the cancellation initiated by the provider or the invoice been issued.
Refund in case of visa refusal or cancelation:
If the international student’s visa application is refused prior to course start date, full fees except the enrolment fee will be refunded.
But onshore applicant must pay fees till the default date (the date requested for cancellation by the student), if the course start date already passed.
Note:
